We successfully prepared La1?xBixFeO3 (LxB1?xFO, x?=?0.01–0.1) nanoparticles using a sol-gel technique, and studied their photocatalytic, magnetic, and electrochemical properties. Structural refinement studies of the prepared nanoparticles revealed a gradual structural transition from rhombohedral to orthorhombic. The average grain size was observed to decrease with increasing the concentration of La. The photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) in the presence of the prepared nanoparticles was studied under visible light irradiation. The L0.06B0.94FO nanoparticles showed higher degradation efficiency compared to pure BiFeO3 (BFO) nanoparticles. Magnetic studies showed that La doping improved the magnetization of BFO due to the reduction in grain size and destruction of cycloid coupling of spins. Higher specific capacitance values were obtained for La doped BFO (LBFO) nanoparticles compared to BFO nanoparticles. A phytogenic feed additive (PFA) formulation was prepared with bioactive molecules—curcuminoids, gingerol, and carvacrol by encapsulating in nanofiber isolated from turmeric spent (turmeric nanofiber, TNF). This formulation was completely characterized by scanning electron microscope, ultra performance liquid chromatography, and gas chromatography and evaluated for its efficacy. PFA-encapsulated TNF (PFA@TNF) considerably increased mean body weight, decreased cholesterol level, mortality rate, and reduced Escherichia coli content of broilers than antibiotic growth promoter (AGP). The impact of external mass transport on the biodegradation rate of phenol in a packed bed bioreactor (PBBR) was studied. A potential bacterial species, Bacillus flexus GS1 IIT (BHU), was isolated from the petroleum‐contaminated soil. Low‐density polyethylene (LDPE) immobilized with the B. flexus GS1 IIT (BHU) was used as packing material in the PBBR. The PBBR was operated by varying the inlet feed flow rate from 4 to 10 mL/min, and the corresponding degradation rate coefficients were found to be in the range of 0.119–0.157 L/g h. In addition, the highest removal rate of phenol was obtained to be 1.305 mg/g h at an inlet feed rate of 10 mL/min. The external mass transfer was studied using the model . Grewia is a tropical berry rich in anthocyanins and antioxidants but highly perishable in nature. In this study, desirable composite blend of overripe Grewia (Phalsa) berries and cantaloupe was sought for conversion to acetic acid. Composition of raw macerate, and the alcoholic and acetic ferments was analysed for sugars, alcohol and acetic acid. The primary alcohol yield varied significantly (5.75–99.44%) with blend composition. Vinegar from select blend attained 4.98% acidity with 138.57 mg mL−1 of phenols and high anthocyanins retention (74.77%). Gompertz model was used to fit the growth curves of S. cerevisiae and A. aceti (R2> 0.92) during fermentation. Presence of ethyl acetate, iso-pentyl alcohols explained pleasant sweet fruity aroma of resulting vinegar. Thus, high quality functional red fruit vinegar can be obtained to prevent spoilage and utilise the functional potential of this delicate and nutritious berry. 相似文献

This study deals with the effect of electric force and magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) of the transient state on natural convection flow past an oscillating vertical plate. In addition to this, thermal radiation and porous media are also examined in the Casson fluid flow. The Poisson-Boltzmann equation is employed to show the electric potential character within the fluid region, which is put into a linear form by the implementation of Debye–Hückel linearization. It is possible to compute the precise solution to the governing equations using the Laplace transform approach. The expression of fluid velocity, fluid concentration, and temperature are exposed graphically, and numerical results for Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are also derived for vital pertinent flow constraints. Increasing electroosmosis parameters strongly boosts fluid velocity. The nonnegative values of the Helmholtz–Smoluchowski velocity highly induce the axial velocity and the negative value decelerates. With increasing radiation strength and Prandtl number, the fluid's temperature distribution diminishes. These more intricate electrokinetic rheological flows associated with electroosmotic separators, such as biomedical absorbers, are illuminated by these models. 相似文献

The ammonia oxidation of a mixed culture enriched from a wastewater treatment plant sludge was monitored by a DO probe and a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (phosphate) (NAD(P)H) fluorometer. Under fixed aeration, DO reflected ammonia oxidation effectively. According to the DO profiles and the total ammonia concentrations analyzed experimentally, the ammonia oxidation kinetics of the enriched culture was determined. The ammonia oxidation rate was found sensitive to pH, especially at low total ammonia concentrations. At high concentrations of total ammonia, the maximum ammonia oxidation rate occurred at pH 7.6+/-0.1. At low concentrations, the pH sensitivity intensified significantly and the apparent optimal pH shifted higher with decreasing total ammonia concentrations, because NH3 molecules were the true substrate for ammonia oxidation and more NH4+ ions were converted to NH3 molecules at higher pH. The ammonia oxidation kinetics was therefore developed according to the concentration of NH3 molecules, instead of the commonly used total ammonia concentration. The kinetics followed Michaelis-Menten behavior for both DO and NH3 concentration: the maximum rate was 16.7+/-0.7 mg NH3-N/(g TSS-h) and the Michaelis constants for DO and NH3 were (14+/-2)% air saturation and (4.4+/-0.4) x 10(-2) (mg NH3-N/L), respectively. It was also concluded from the study that with or without exogenous organic substances, the NAD(P)H fluorescence of the enriched nitrifying culture was undetectable. The fluorescence did not respond to addition or depletion of substrate (ammonia, glucose, or acetate), change between aerobic and anaerobic conditions, or even KCN addition to kill the culture. 相似文献
